Sonya's unique vocal ability has electrified audiences all over the world, offering them original, captivating, and heartfelt experience which shares the soul of every song she has written or performed. With a vocal ability that is comparable to none and marveled by many, Sonya incorporates thought-provoking lyrics with unmistakable soul and eclectic overtones into her music. Her organic songwriting abilities blend neo-soul, gospel, RnB, Jazz, Soul, and a contemporary sound that transcends musical barriers. It’s a “bottomless barrel of musical ear candy” in the words of one eloquent fan.

Sonya is one of 14 siblings raised by the late Pastor Harold and Naomi McGuire in Lithonia, Georgia, She's a preacher's daughter who learned to sing, act, play instruments and appreciate music at a very early age. With music playing such a dominant role in the home, Sonya felt there was no other path for her than to follow the unofficial “family business.” Initially, Sonya chose drums to express her musical creativity and talent. Later she developed a love for singing, playing keys, and directing, and she quickly became the obvious choice for musical director at her father’s church. Her music and direction were inspiring and dynamic. If describing Sonya McGuire in two words, they would be atmosphere-changing.

Sonya is a multi-gifted international recording artist, songwriter, producer, musician, and former radio personality. She maintains her grounded upbringing has led her to live a humble life full of unique global experiences that have inspired her music and writing. Experiencing her music transcend language barriers while on an international tour simply blew her away. She had just finished an encore and a young lady walked up to her with her eyes filled with tears trying to verbally express in her language how much she loved her music. It was one of the most heartfelt moments in her music career. She couldn’t understand a word she was saying but they connected on a level much greater than just words. They connected on a musical level that was like no other. It's those life-changing moments in her career that keeps her going and makes it all worth it. In this next chapter of her career, Sonya expresses the evolution of her artistry by revealing the most intimate chambers of her heart to listening audiences. Sonya has been on hiatus due to the loss of her mother and father within 14 months of each other but she's back! The anticipated singles entitle Stronger, Come Go With Me, and Joy Remix offers a sneak peek into Sonya's ' journey of her life and her renewed passion for music.

Sonya is the founder of four community organizations including: 

Sing for a Cure, assist those who are battling cancer or have lost loved ones to cancer by giving scholarships away to those families in need of assistance with medications, bills, school supplies, clothes, or funding for college.

Psalms of Thanks, serves as a vehicle that provides food, financial assistance, clothes, and other things needed to those individuals that are less fortunate.

Project Think is a youth and young adult mentoring initiative that encourage our youth to think about their decisions. It provides an out for youth that battle with making the right decisions for their life and how every decision that they make now affects their later.

Blessed to be a Blessing, serving the community, feeding the homeless, adopting families during the holiday seasons, meeting their needs, and empowering families in our communities.
